better, we have listed a short biography of each
of our Ministerial Staff members. Each
welcomes you and invites you to come and be a
part of Mile Straight Baptist Church.
Dr.
Albert Goss
Dr. Al Goss became
the eleventh pastor of Mile Straight Baptist
Church on July 7, 1963. Prior to his
coming to Mile Straight Baptist Church, Dr. Goss
served as pastor of Flat Rock First Baptist
Church in Flat Rock, Alabama. Dr. Goss is
a native of Alabama but moved to Chattanooga, TN
to work and then go to school at Tennessee
Temple University, where he received his diploma
of theology. He also received his bachelor
of ministry degree, his master's degree and a
doctor of theology degree from Covington
Theological Seminary. Dr. Goss has served
the members of Mile Straight Baptist Church for
45 years with a heart of love and compassion.
Dr. Goss and his wife, Cherry, have five
children: Scarlett, Clifta, Tim, Tom & Jimmy.
Included in the family are nine grandchildren &
four great-grandchildren.
Dr.
Tom Goss
Dr. Tom Goss came to
Mile Straight Baptist Church as pastor in
September of 1998
to serve alongside his father, Dr. Al Goss.
Before becoming pastor, Dr. Tom Goss served as a
youth director for six years at Mile Straight
during the 1980s. Dr. Goss received his
Diploma of Theology from Tennessee Temple
University soon after coming to Mile Straight
Baptist Church as pastor and has since gone on
to earn his bachelor of ministry, master of ministry in
pastoral studies & a doctor of
ministry degree from Covington Theological
Seminary. Dr. Goss and
his wife, Melinda, have
one child Cameron.
EXECUTIVE PASTOR / YOUTH DIRECTOR
Clifford Suddeth,
known simply as "Clip", came to Mile Straight
Baptist Church as Youth Director in 1998.
Over the past few years Clip has extended his
roll of Youth Director to cover the roll of
Executive Pastor. Clip earned his
bachelors of science degree from the University of
Tennessee at Chattanooga & has since finished
his master of religious education from Temple
Baptist Seminary. Clip is married to Mary.
Gary Dillow came
to Mile Straight Baptist Church in January of
1995. Prior to coming to Mile Straight
Baptist Church, Gary served at Perry Hill Road
Baptist Church in Montgomery, Alabama; Middle
Creek Baptist Church in Blue River, KY; and at Quint City Baptist Temple in Davenport, Iowa.
Gary earned a bachelor's degree in theology from Tennessee
Temple University in 1974. Gary works with
the Golden Agers of Mile Straight and also
serves as the shut-in director. Gary and
his wife, Margaret, have three children: Mark
David, Rhea Dianne & Evan Daniel with 6
grandchildren.
MUSIC DIRECTOR / CHILDREN'S DIRECTOR
Jason Sneed came
to Mile Straight Baptist Church in January 1998
as the part-time music director. It wasn't
until August 2005, that Jason became full time
at Mile Straight Baptist Church serving as both
Music Director and Children's Director.
Jason earned a bachelors of science degree in
Business Management from Tennessee Temple
University in the spring of 1997. Jason
and his wife, Cara, have one child, Jenna Grace
Sneed.
